Tameka L. Tucker was originally hand-picked by David L. Moffitt to be an integral part of his team of expert attorneys, paralegals, and other legal professionals.  Upon his untimely passing, she was handed the reigns as Managing Attorney of  the firm that bears his name.

Attorney Tucker gained the majority of her experience in the medical field, where she managed medical professionals for decades at Beaumont Hospital and Sinai Grace, working as a Senior Respiratory Therapist, until she became frustrated with the injustice she witnessed and decided to do something about it, changing career paths to go to law school and become an attorney.

She fell in love with criminal defense law when she helped free an innocent man from prison during her tenure with the Cooley Innocence Clinic.  When David L. Moffitt heard about her, he recognized that Attorney Tucker's real-world experience, determination, and team-driven approach to management were the same characteristics he shared that won him so many victories.  He knew those characteristics would do the same for Attorney Tucker.

He was not wrong.  In only the first five months after Mr. Moffitt's untimely passing, Attorney Tucker has been responsible for four major victories, including a remand from the Court of Appeals, a resentencing, a re-instatement of an appeal, and a new trial.  Attorney Tucker conducted the evidentiary hearing in federal district court in May 2022 that led directly to the July 14, 2022 order by US District Judge Linda V. Parker in Upshaw v. Stephenson, granting Mr. Upshaw a new trial.  She is set to win more cases in the near future.  The same winning team of attorneys and paralegals that won so many victories under Attorney Moffitt is still behind Attorney Tucker, working just as hard on every case -- and  still winning.
